Timmy Chan's first opened on Fannin Street then at Greenway Plaza in Houston during the 1970s by The Chu family. In the 1980s, The Chus closed their full-service restaurants and sold the remaining two quick service restaurants, along with recipes, to two Vietnamese Chinese immigrant families, The Tran and The Dang. To distinguish ourselves and yet still keep the Timmy Chan's name alive, we called ourselves as Timmy Chan's and The Dang's named their restaurants The Original Timmy Chan's.

Timmy Chan's is family-owned and operated. Our menu has evolved throughout the years to better served our neighborhood. We proudly serve American-Chinese food, chicken wings, and Cajun inspired dishes. Our most popular items includes Garlic Wings, Cajun Shrimp Pasta, Lo Mien, Fried Rice and Beef with Broccoli to name a few.  Our General Tso Chicken is second to none and all are cooked to order.  For the past 40 years one thing has not changed, our recipe for Wings and Rice.

We are the first Chinese restaurant in Houston to offer the convenience of the Drive-Thru service. Our customers can have a delicious Asian meal or just a tall cup of Kool-Aid during the hot Texas summer without leaving the comfort of their cars. We have grown and expanded to better serve our community and we cherish our entry in the urban dictionary. Timmy Chan's is one of the most-mentioned restaurants in Houston's music scene.
